Back to School

After our fun Back to School feast, and special blessings from their Dad the night before Ethan and Caden were ready to start 3rd and 1st Grade!  Back to school was pretty bittersweet for me this year.  We had such a fun summer.  Quinn and I felt pretty lost the first few weeks without the big brothers at home.  I'm just really grateful that these two brother buddies have each other.

Ethan is growing up.  He wanted a blue bag pack, blue lunch box and lots of blue shirts this year!
Such a big difference from Kindergarten to 1st Grade for Caden, his confidence has grown and he walked in to his classroom without even looking back.

I showed the boys these comparison photos of what I looked like on the first day of my 1st and 3rd grade years.  Caden said, "we would have been good friends mom."  I think he's right!
Ethan said, "you were cute mom and tall!"  I wish I still had these awesome floral hammer pants.
Even without his brothers home Quinn still manages to have at least a little fun!

Summertime in Idaho

The boys and I got to visit my parents in Boise for a few weeks this summer.  It was such a fun trip, jam packed with fun everyday.  Here are a few of the highlights!

3 year old Quinn water-skied...or at least he water-sitted!  It was awesome!

On our way to Idaho we stopped in Vernal a few days to visit Grandma P.  A bonus I got to see my old mission companion Sora Sarah!

Now we each have 3 boys and a girl!  So fun!

These boys love visiting Great Grandmother Peterson!  They love all of their second cousins in Vernal.

For my mom's birthday this year the boys each planned a date to take her on when we got to Boise.  No one was more excited than Caden!  He waited 6 weeks for this day to take Grammy to Ceramica to paint.  He came to the door to pick Grammy up, he said, "I'll pay, but you drive Grammy."  The worker at Ceramica taught Caden how to make his dog look like it had real fur with a marbling technique, he got to use shaving cream and everything.  His little ceramic dog Bingo is now a prized possession.
Ethan took her to see the Angry Birds movie (he let Grammy choose).  They got popcorn and drinks and went to Walmart for a Lego souvenir afterwards.
Fun day at Quinn's pond and a little surfing on the Boise River.

Loved the dollar and 50 cent movies next door to Grammy's house.

A night fishing at the lake.  The fish weren't biting, but Caden wasn't giving up!  Right before the sunset they reeled one in.
The next morning Grandpa made the fish for breakfast. He told the boys that whoever ate one of the eyes would get a milkshake. Caden took him up on it!
They took the motorcycle to Fanci Freeze for the fish eye cookie dough shake.

We all love Hunter!

After a few weeks of non-stop fun my mom helped us drive back to Colorado to give my problematic pregnant leg a break.  On our way home we got to see Weston, Erica, Scarlett, Holland and Grandpa and Nada.  Such a fun vacation!
The new Provo temple is beautiful.
