Miller Farm

On Monday Caden, Quinn and I headed to Miller Farm with the Imagination Station field trip.  For $5 we got to take a hay ride to 5 different fields and harvest a bag full of vegetables at each stop.  Caden was the best helper.  He worked on digging this carrot out of the field for several minutes with his bare fingers.  When we finally got it out of the ground, he was so proud.  He carried it around like a trophy.

All the produce we found.  Lots of yummy soups at our house this week!

Such a fun fall day with my little buddies!
I was glad we had a chance to harvest a few root vegetables.  We tried (especially Clark) to grow beets and carrots in our little square foot garden this year.  They looked awesome from the top.  We were expecting a great harvest.  Clark went out to pick them, and this is what he came inside with.  I couldn't help but burst out into singing the hymn of Thanksgiving.

Costumes

As I was scrolling back through my pictures from this past summer I realized that every month looks like October.  We are all costumes all the time around here!  I love that my boys are constantly dressing up and making up elaborate imaginary scenarios.  Here are a few of the costume highlights from the last few months.
Ethan said, "Look Mom, I'm the perfect combination between summer and winter.
Found this little guy outside in his brother's boots and hat with his Dad's mitt.  He thinks he's one of the big boys...when people ask him how old he is he says "4."
Clark needed a new suit for job interview...we liked the BYU blue!

Running errands on game day!
We had the best karaoke dance party complete with strobe light, disco light, costumes and props!  I love that when I asked the boys what they wanted to do they requested the dance party.  Such a fun night with friends!
Killing time at the hospital in Daddy's office while mom had an appointment.  Mummy?  Why not?

Goldilocks and the 3 bears at the Pueblo Children's Museum
Little neighborhood terror always likes to have a helmet.
Mario avoiding bedtime.
Free lunch at Chick-Fil-A for all in cow suits.
At Great Clips with mismatched shoes because he couldn't find his sandals.  Didn't notice until we were half-way across the parking lot.  No biggie.

Pirates on the Jolly Roger!
Fancy with Stella!
This one really was a Halloween decoration.  We tried to give Quinn his own hand so that he could maybe use that for his pacifier instead of always pinching the skin between our thumb and forefinger.  He was not one bit amused.  "I don't like it Mommy."

Pioneers!
A cowboy with 2 minion sidekicks.

"Look mom, I am big pants, Caden is medium pants, and Quinn is little pants.  We dance with pants on our heads."  And they did.
Slippers!
I can't pretend I don't know where they get it from when it comes to costumes...I'll totally take the blame for this one!

Coming Out of His Shell

I've been so proud of Caden the last couple of months.  He has really come out of his shyness shell.  This was his first season playing Mighty Mite soccer and he has loved it!  One of my favorite parts of soccer season has turned out to be the professional pictures!  So entertaining each time.
Caden has also started a preschool co-op 2 days a week.  We've yet to host it at our house, but I've heard it is a lively little group!
Trying to get a picture of him on his way to preschool, but that was a morning Greeley was extremely stinky...and Caden with his super sonic nose couldn't smile.

With his buddy Mason after learning all about bats!

Since Ethan has been back in school Caden has become my little shadow, literally, he is with me all the time.  And he likes to talk all the time.  Sometimes it is exhausting, but a lot of the time it is really entertaining.  Lately he has been praying "that all the people can be safe, even the ones I don't know, and that everyone can know the truth."  It's pretty sweet.  He also explained to Ethan that the song Timber is about people at a dance party, and then a giant tree fell on them.  Never a dull moment with my little Caden, who informs me all the time he isn't little.
