Boise Trip

On the 4th of July Clark, Quinn and I made a road trip from Durango to Boise.  We made one surprise visit in Utah to Grandpa Turpin and Nada.  We knew they would be busy setting up for the barbecue they were hosting that evening, and thought we might be able to help set up.  Although a very quick visit, it was fun to catch up for a minute.
We drove fast and furious and made it to Boise just in time to meet the boys and my parents downtown for the fireworks.  It was a sweet reunion.  The boys were most excited to see Quinn.

Quinn loves the fountain!

Eating dinner on the porch one night we were over taken by bees.  Apparently they like salmon too.  They were crazy strong, they would mine out pieces of fish and fly away with them.  This bee was taking off with a big chunk of fish.

S'mores on the porch.
Grammy read the boys Calico Cotton while they were visiting.  On our last night they had a slumber party in the tee-pee.
The best part of the whole trip was meeting our new adorable nephew, Hunter James.  He was the sweetest little newborn!

The boys got a few swim lessons from Mack!
We celebrated Clark's birthday in Boise with a trip to the aquarium, lunch at Cafe Rio, cake and a movie.

A cowboy even at the pool.
On our last day we stuck around for the Eagle Fun Days wet and wild parade!  It was so fun!  The Kerr family are warriors at this parade and Ethan and Caden jumped right in their group.  Clark bought 12 squirt guns and it was all he could do to keep them filled up.

Summer fun at it's finest!

Fishing in Grandpa's Boat - Boise

Whenever we go to Boise one of the highlights is going on Grandpa's boat!  We went to Anderson Ranch for a day of fishing and fun.

Caden was so excited to catch a fish!
And then it got away!  Look at that face!  One disappointed boy.
Not too long after though, he caught another one...this time it made it into the boat!

The face of triumphant, "I'm number one!"

Boat naps are the best!

Can you tell that another one got away?

After a little fishing we made it just in time for a few tube rides before a big storm rolled in!

A fun day.  And a delicious salmon dinner a few nights later thanks to the ones that didn't get away!

Caden and Ethan Take a "Private Vacation"

Even 6 weeks later when I ask Ethan and Caden to describe their private vacation with Grammy and Grandpa they say, "awesome, amazing, so much fun, cool, best ever don't miss!"

After Clark's graduation my parents took the boys back to Idaho.  When I told the boys about that plan Caden started calling it their "private vacation."  And what a vacation it was!  They got to not only go to Boise, but also to Oregon for a fancy wedding and stay at a fun resort with a water park!  When I showed the boys pictures of the resort they said, "whoa it almost looks as good as Disneyland."

Apparently these 2 ripped up the dance floor for hours.  Then Caden got a little bored with the dance and found some beautiful desert sand to dig in.  The white shirt did not survive the private vacation.

He feels the music in his bones!

I don't know why I wasted any time worrying they might be homesick!  They had the time of their lives!
