Boise Summer Fun

It's always fun to visit Boise, but this trip was extra fun since James and Erica live there now, and because Erica and Scarlett joined us too!  Weston was able to come for the one weekend, and it was just a lot of fun to hang out with the fam...and beat each of my brothers in a friendly game of horse.  I was happy to have Erica there as a workout buddy, and the two of us went to at least 5 dollar movies after the kids were in bed.  I'm having withdrawals from all the movies.
Spent a night at the horse races.

Sleepy sweaty little boys were a normal sight.

Emmett Cherry Festival

He even makes  bowling shoes look good!

A bubble popping dance party with Grammy!

Hugging Grandpa good-bye!
Motorcycle rides with Grandpa are the best!

Little Scarlett in her dancing dress from Spain.  We loved Scarlett's signature dance move "the sprain," even Quinny picked up on it.

Uncle James gave many serious talks to these babies.

A little snooze with Grandpa.

My favorite word that Quinn says is "Carlett," he is continuing to ask about where she is.
The perfect summer trip ended with a drive through Wyoming in a blizzard!  Seriously?!?!

Babby Farms - Boise

One day while we were in Boise we visited Babby Farms.  It was a fun petting zoo experience.  I did learn I am not so good at petting zoos.  The camel tried to nip the back of my head and the zonkey tried to bite my fingers off (luckily, my mom caught both of these awesome moments on camera).

The highlight of the day for Caden was when the kangaroo held his hand.

Quinn had no fear and loved to have his fingers licked as he fed the animals.

Aunt Erica was a champ to get up close and personal with all the animals.

Quinn in a sheep mosh pit.
Quinn grossing me out pretending to be a sheep.

Cute Scarlett in the goat pen.

Celebrating Grammy - Boise

We had a great time celebrating Grammy Tammy's birthday while we were in Boise.  We started the day going out for breakfast with the ladies and the kids.  Another patron even commented that the kids were the most well behaved children he had ever seen...ha ha...if only he knew!

Later that night we had dinner at the park and splash pad.

These two in their matching high chairs were too cute!

Capitol Classic - Boise Summer

I was so excited that our time in Boise was during the Capitol Classic.  I loved doing this race as a kid and was excited that Ethan was old enough this year to participate.  Nowadays they start the race at the train depot and run to the capitol building.  It is a pretty awesome sight to see a wave of kids in matching t-shirts come running up the road.

I think Ethan was a little nervous when I dropped him off with all of the kids.

The boys got to run first, they lined them up according to age oldest to youngest.  I found a spot about half-way down to watch the race.  The big boys came by first, and towards the middle of the pack there were some young boys.  Ethan is pretty fast so I thought he would be coming up pretty soon so I got my camera ready.

But no Ethan.  I thought for sure he would stick out in the blue shirt, but I started to panic that I had missed him.  Finally towards the very back of the pack I saw a little blue pin ball coming down the street, literally bouncing from one side of the road to the other.

I think he probably ran at least 3 miles as he went from one side of the road to another, stopped to investigate a cone or two, and continued to look back at me and Quinn and "wait" for us as we walked along the race course.  It was pretty funny, but he finished!
Uncle James and Aunt Erica came to get in on the free race swag after the race.

All the kids after the race on the steps of the Capitol Building.  Ethan is on the far right.
It was a fun day!  I hope we have many more years of Capitol Classic to come.

June Travels

June was the perfect summer month, and it went by way too fast!  My little traveling buddies and I started the month with a drive to Utah arriving right on time for my Aunt Tari's wedding.
We made it with just one pit stop at Little America in Wyoming.
I loved his little graham cracker bum when he finally got out of his car seat.
It was such a fun night to celebrate Tari and Bart and catch up with family.  The dance party was pretty epic too!

Solemn little wedding watchers.

That night we stayed at Weston and Erica's house and got to have fun the next morning while Grandpa dug a giant hole in the yard.  We also got to see Kelli and her cute girls.

Scarlett was loving the dirt playing right along with the boys!

The taste not so much!
That afternoon we headed to Boise for a week and a half of summer fun!
