February Fun!

February had some fun events to record.
Ethan's best friends Kylie and Katelyn were baptized!
We had a quick weekend trip to Durango to explore a job possibility.  We always love being able to see our Durango family.  Quinn loves being able to see Jackson, the cows and horses.

Clark and I enjoyed a romantic double date with Carrie and Troy to Chick-Fil-A.  It was actually really fun.  It was a reservation, adult only event.  They had decorated with nice linens, they had servers wearing tuxes, a live band, roses for the women, and free dessert...and best of all Cowsanova!

Grandma Karen got to visit for a week!  We love every minute when she gets to come.

Found some Iowa memories in Greeley, Colorado!

Just Princess Anna and Elsa hanging out!  Caden did tell me I looked like a monster when I came out in this wig!

Day of Dance with Cat in the Hat, a horse, and a tiger.
The many faces of Quinn on the way home from church one Sunday, this kid's moods can change quickly!

My boys were so excited when the Fowler kids got to stay at our house for a few days while their parents were out of town.  These kids love to play and always have so much fun together.

100th Day of School

I love that Ethan's teacher had the kids dress like they were 100 years old for the 100th day of school.
He had fun at the celebration but came home with a fever and feeling crummy.  He said, now I feel like I'm 100.  It's amazing how much Ethan has learned this year.  The last few months the reading light bulb went on for him and it's been so fun to hear him reading!  I'm proud of my little Old Man!

January Shenanigans

I have to admit that 2015 got off to a slow start.  I spent the first week on the couch sick and attempting to take care of sick boys.  It was rough.  The following week was spent cleaning the gigantic mess that occurred when I laid on the couch the previous week.  But we are back in business again.  And even on the sick weeks there was still plenty to smile about around here.
I've had fun watching the boys shows.

Has anyone seen Caden?

Clark won the Blue Bowl this year!  It came with silly string and a celebration!

Lots of Bat Men!
A late night Applebee's date with Ethan and his friends Katelyn and Kylie.
We were listening to Taylor Swift's "Shake it Off," and right during the part that says, "to the fella over there with the hella good hair," Caden came up the stairs looking like this.  So funny!

Got a wonderful temple visit with my wonderful husband.

He Rules with an Iron Fist

On Saturday morning Quinn woke up, so I got him out of his bed and put him in bed with me hoping he'd snuggle and snooze a few more minutes.  I asked if he wanted to snuggle and he said no.  I tried to tempt him by saying, "how about if I give you a back scratch and sing you a song?"  He replied, "how about if you change my diaper and get me some milk?"
Well, well then!  I really was shocked speechless for a second before I cracked up.  I guess I will take care of you my child.  He rules this house with an iron fist.
Today in his spaceship with his buddy Olaf.
Just continuing with his rule, he beat us all bowling on Saturday!  Somehow the kid scored a 140...3 strikes in a row at the end all with ketchup on his face.

He is pretty irresistible in his cowboy boots.  He is constantly roping things and heading to a "Ya-de-o" (rodeo) on his horse.

Wearing his boots over his jammies after a night at the pool.
His cuteness is undeniable.  Even having a breathing treatment after taking a bite of butter (yes, he is still allergic to milk) he still manages to be a cutie!  His cuteness makes his iron fist easier to handle.

White Sands National Monument

In the name of medical school I have been blessed to see many new and exciting places in this great country...I could never imagine I'd add "world's largest pistachio" to that list.  But I DID!  While Clark was exploring a job possibility the boys and I had a few days of adventuring in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

We were really fortunate to be there on a beautiful, sunny day to explore the White Sands National Monument.  It was awesome!  Several acres of white sand dunes.  We bought a little saucer sled on our way in, waxed the bottom and had a blast.  The sand was so soft, and on the packed down areas the sled went pretty fast.  The joy of sledding without gloves falling off and getting cold.

Quinn just loved playing in the world's biggest sand box.

There were several little picnic tables set up to block the wind and sun.  While we enjoying a little juice on this table all of a sudden we heard an explosion.  It literally made the table shake, made all of the car alarms go off, and scared us all to death.  We knew we were close to a military base, but weren't expecting a bomb explosion.  My boys had many theories about the bomb.  It really scarred Quinn, he has been talking about it ever since.  Come to find out later it was actually a sonic boom...one of the military jets broke the sound barrier...pretty cool!

Ethan and Caden running through the desert.

Quinn didn't need a sled.

This shadow pictures proves I was there too.
The sand was so soft and perfect, it reminded me of sugar cookie dough the deeper down we dug.

Of course when I pointed that out to Caden he had to taste it.  He wasn't a fan, but kept trying it until I told him there might be lizard poop in there so he better stop.
It was like a place I've never seen, and I'm glad we had a chance to experience the white sands!

Ringing in the New Year in Durango

After a few days in Alamogordo we headed to Durango for our last few days of 2014.  We had a great time visiting family!

On New Year's Day we had fun watching football games at Jay and Lucy's house.  We always love playing Last Chance with Seth...he is the luckiest kid alive...he somehow managed to win all 7 cards one game.  I've played this game for year and have NEVER seen that done.
One night all of the adults went out to dinner and when we came home the boys had all made an awesome fort.
Cute Henry peeking out.

The boys loved Grandpa's New Year's pinata.

A few of the grandsons snuggling with Grandma.
Henry and Ethan wanted a sleep over so we tucked all three boys into one little bed.  They insisted they would be comfortable.
A few hours later we found them like this, and then about 20 minutes later we found Caden on the floor, the littlest bear had been kicked out of the bed.
It was a fun couple of day!  The boys were exhausted when we drove home.
But as soon as we walked in the house, they found Christmas part 2.  I hadn't taken down any decorations or even cleaned up their new toys so they celebrated all over again!  Caden exclaimed, "there's no place like home for the holidays."
Always glad for every chance we get to visit our Durango family!
