Images of Spring

The last couple of weeks we were in Durango just seemed like perfect spring days.  The weather was getting warmer, we had a picnic with Lucy and her boys at the park, and it was just so pleasant to be outside.
Clark, Jay, Seth and Sam ran a 5k.  We had fun cheering them on.  We stood at the bottom of a big hill, Ethan would run down the hill with all of the runners we were cheering on.

We went to the REC center a few times and both of my boys LOVED it!  They especially like the big water slide, Clark and I got lots of exercise carrying Caden up all those stairs over and over again!
The boys never got bored of thumbing down Grandpa for 6 wheeler rides, or watching the tractors work.

The boys tried catching the kite while they jumped on the tramp.

Spring weather also brought wind.  One day after putting the boys down for a nap I noticed it sounded like a hurricane rolling through their bedroom.  I went in and they were shrieking in delight that their curtains were blowing open over Caden's crib.

One blessing of the crazy moving this year has brought us was being able to spend time with family.  I feel like my boys had a chance in Durango to get to know their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins...and they love them!

Easter 2012

Easter was so fun this year, it was special because we got to spend the day with family in Durango.  We had a lovely day at church and then came home and enjoyed a delicious dinner with all of the family.  I made some fabric flowers for our centerpiece and I think they turned out pretty cute!

After dinner Derek, Delanie and Seth hid over 100 Easter eggs for the younger boys to search for in the backyard.  They loved it!

The fearless egg hiders!

Henry and Ethan are best buddy cousins!  Ethan misses Henry and asked if we could bring him with us when we left Durango.

All of the cousins in Durango on Easter.

Sam is Caden's favorite!  He was so good with him the whole time we were in Durango!  Caden misses him, and I do too, it was so nice to have such a good buddy to keep Caden safe and entertained!
Beautiful weather and a great family to be with made for a wonderful day!

Just Holding Our Horses

So in about 12 hours we will find out where and if we match for residency. Hopefully tomorrow morning we will know where we will be spending the next 3 years! We're just holding our horses, trying to be patient.
To pass the time this evening the boys got to literally hold the horses, or ride the "neigh," as Caden calls them.

There is just something too cute about seeing these boys run to the barn in their winter boots.

A few weeks ago I taught Ethan how to thumb a ride, so now whenever he sees Grandpa go by on the 6 wheeler he runs out and holds his thumb up for a ride.

This Sweet Boy Makes Us Laugh

Tonight right after Clark got home, while we were preparing dinner, Ethan was sitting at the table eating a peach cup and said, "What a great day. Being with Daddy...eating a peach cup...it's what every boy wishes for."

We cracked up. The best part is that he was being so sincere.

Easter Eggs on a Beautiful Spring Day...

Well, the day was beautiful, but not so springy. Regardless of the snow falling outside, we had fun dyeing Easter eggs this year.

Ethan helped me boil the eggs and get the dye ready while Caden was napping. He was so excited it was hard for him to wait for his Dad to get home and his little brother to wake up.

Caden loved being in on the action this year, he threw his eggs into the cups like he was shooting a basketball.

The excited face and arms after doing his first "eggy."

Such a fun tradition.

Super E Turns 4!

We've been excited for awhile around here for Ethan's 4th birthday. He decided a few weeks ago he wanted a super hero party.

He woke up to decorations, his cousin Henry to play with, and a fun race car present to unwrap from Grammy and Grandpa.

Clark took him out to lunch, I asked if he wanted to go to Old McDonald's, he replied, "well maybe somwhere specialer like Wendy's."

That night we started off his birthday party with a treasure hunt.

Following the clues to find the treasure!
As you can see in this video he was pretty excited with his treasure at the end:

Caden was being a momma's boy and didn't want me to put him down to take pictures.

Ethan loved his cake. This year he was so particular about his cake, he never could be persuaded by my suggestions. He wanted 2 race cars being driven by super heroes, and that is what he got.

I think his favorite part was opening his birthday presents! He was pretty spoiled by everyone.

I made him a super E cape. The best part was when he put it on he started running and flying around the house as you can see in this video:

Henry is Ethan's "favorite cousin buddy." These two love to play! This hug was given after Henry read a card he wrote all by himself for Ethan.

We were so excited Harvey and Rebecca were visiting!
He had such a great day! At about 11:30 I noticed he was still awake, just getting in every last minute of his special day. I crawled into his bed with him and he couldn't stop talking about how excited he was to be four, he made me tell him about all of his presents again. He had a big grin on his face the whole time we talked, it was pretty sweet!

We love our 4 year old Super E.E.!
