3rd Annual Neighbor Party

We hosted our 3rd Christmas party for our neighbors last weekend.  As much as I joke around about living in a retirement community, we do have great neighbors.  They keep an eye on EVERYTHING and are always willing to help us out.  We love hosting this party every year.  Our boys love all the attention from the all the "grandpas and grandmas" as Quinn calls them.
We had one near disaster at the party.  One of the ladies mentioned that someone is leaving bags of dog poop on her porch (from her own dogs)...she looked around accusingly and said, "If someone has a problem with me I would prefer they tell me to my face and not leave it on the porch."  Well that opened a can of worms, and one of the neighbors started arguing with her about how she never cleans up after her dogs.  Another lady said, "well no matter what you call it...dog poo is poo and nobody likes stepping in that."  Luckily, Clark extinguished the conversation by saying, "hopefully our boys haven't left any surprises in anyone's yard, we try to keep them under control."  Then everyone started laughing and we moved on from that topic!  Phew!

The funniest part of the night was when we were playing a game and everyone had to answer one Christmas question and then we were guessing who wrote which answer.  So we were helping Caden fill his out and one of the questions was "what is the worst or best Christmas gift you have ever received or given?"  Caden quickily replied, "a stinky piece of cheese."  What?  He's never received that, but we put it down anyway.  When I read his question he was giggling so much.  It was a fun night.  We're going to miss this little tradition next year.
